  • Hands review (Short stacked)

The following is a few hands I played in October 2017 and just recently reviewed after discovering a stream of the play on Youtube. At the time I was very amateur and had only played for about 2 years with limited poker knowledge. Now, almost 2,5 years later I am very critical to almost all my play listed below. At the time I was very satiesfied cashing at my first event in Las Vegas. Any comments would be appreciated.

Hand 1 is fine, I'd do the same.

Hand 2 is okay, although there is a lot of dead money sitting out there waiting to be taken preflop. Perhaps an Ax hand with a blocker would serve as a better ISO raise though.

Hand 3 should probably have been a small RFI instead. 2-2.25bb. 15bb is a tad too wide to open shove IMO. <12bb works a lot better for open shoving.

Hand 4 I could get behind shoving here preflop. There's a lot of dead money waiting for someone to collect it, we have a good blocker in our hand (K) but a hand that doesn't flop particularly well unless we hit the clubs.

Hand 5 I'm not a fan of this raise size. My problem here is that the blinds have the perfect stack sizes to shove over the top here and you'll be in a nasty spot where you should probably fold after investing ~20% of your stack.

    Hand 6 is fine.

Hand 7 is bad. Nowhere near the correct odds to call. Shove or fold.

Thanks for the comments. My style of play has changed since then.
Played today my action would most likely be:
      #1 - min.raise
#2 - push all-in, had no information prior to the hand that anyone would slowplay a hand that could call.
      #3 - min.raise
#4 - push all-in, I like K8s more that 66 to push in this scenario
#5 - probably fold, agree that min.raise is better if played.
#6 - no change, however would consider value on river
      #7 - fold
